Subject: Cedar Lakes Site of Book Collaboration
(Terra Alta) New book collaboration between E G Bears, Jason Lynch and Bob Evans Farms was one of the featured events at the Mountain State Arts & Craft Festival in Ripley, WV this year. Teddy Bear Helps on the Farm is the title of the coloring/activity book to be released at the Bob Evans Farm Festival in October.
Headline Books authors, Martin & Delia Wach were featured presenters at the Fair and the Wachs are also participating in the book project. Delia held Drawing Workshops throughout the four day event for over 225 children [and many parents!]. The Wachs were sponsored by the Tamarack Foundation Arts Education Program for the event. “We had so many great stories and illustrations come out of the workshops for the new book,” said illustrator/author Delia Wach. “The children came up with wonderful stories of how a teddy bear can help on the farm in the initial brain storming sessions we had at the beginning of every workshop. After discussing the details of the story idea, I showed the children how to use a box of 24 crayons to draw and bring their ideas to life.”
“The Wachs had 18 workshops during the four day fair and I am very pleased with the outcome,” said Jason Lynch, president of the E. G. Bear Co. “I have been working on this coloring/activity book project for over a year and the children’s work is superb! The Wachs have given the project direction and the focus it needed. We all look forward to the finished book. We were so happy to be able to include work done by the children of Appalachia at the Mountain State Arts & Craft Festival in Cedar Lakes this year; it will make the book very special indeed. Also included will be artwork and stories from Ohio elementary school students.”
The E. G. Bear Co., located in Friendly, WV is a family of toy artists who have been busy creating special products that reflect friendship, faith, and love. Each homespun creation is made in the USA by people from West Virginia since its founding in 1995 by a group friends.

Their books include, Teddy Bear Guardians of the Rain Forest, Butterfly Dreams, The Great West Virginia Snow Adventure, An Adventure in Writing, and their newest title, Veterans Reign in Their Own Parade co-authored with 5th graders from Rainelle Elementary School in Rainelle, WV. The Wachs are sought after and very popular speakers and are dedicated to visiting school children to share their unique experiences and talents. They have inspired many to attain goals of environmental protection, careers in art and writing, and social consciousness. Their school program enhances the classroom and opens young minds to many possibilities and potential careers.
