From a school project to a magical adventure, Haley conjures up an award winning story with characters from past and present that will entertain and encourage children to take their own imaginations from pen to paper!
"Haley is an elementary student with a gift for story telling," said publisher, Cathy Teets. "The competition is very competitive at West Virginia Writers and a win there is something to treasure! Haley is very engaging and we are looking forward to her participation in our School Show Program as her school schedule allows."
"Reading equals the discovery of who we are and what we are to be about as human beings. Reading is the process whereby the person helps themselves to become what they can be. In Merlin's Secrets, Haley Lambert has captured that magical process," said Jack Wiseman, Executive Director WVPASS-Partnerships to Assure Student Success- WV Department of Education and the Arts, Former High School Principal, Jackson County Board Member.
"As a kid, I was so engrossed in books I used to daydream and sometimes really dream the characters walked off the page into my pedestrian world. That is exactly the phenomenon that Haley captures in Merlin's Secrets. Her ancient wizard is comical, mildly sardonic and utterly modern. Every kid will recognize himself or herself in Haley's story," writes Dawn Miller, board member of Read
Aloud West Virginia and longtime Read Aloud volunteer.
Haley Lambert's early passion for reading began as a toddler with weekend trips to the local bookstores with her dad. She is an avid jazz and ballet dancer and has performed in several citywide theater and dance productions.
Haley will be featured at the West Virginia Book Festival October 11-12 at the Charleston Civic Center in the Headline Books booth. Merlin's Secrets is available at your favorite bookstore, online at book sellers websites including www.amazon.com and www.headlinekids.com .
